Beginner Ceramics Course
An 8-session course for beginners
This course is designed for those with no previous experience who would like a comprehensive introduction to ceramics, its basic handbuilding techniques, and materials.
Over the course of eight sessions, you will learn the techniques of handbuilding, become familiar with ceramic materials and the different stages of the making process, and create your own finished ceramic pieces.

The course fee is split into two payments:

What you will learn

the handbuilding techniques (pinching, coiling and slab building)

how to create finished functional and decorative ceramic pieces

an introduction to surface decoration and texture techniques

an introduction to glazing and the firing process
Included: all materials, glazes and firings.
By the end of the course, you will have acquired the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to continue creating your own ceramic work with greater confidence and independence. Those who wish to continue their ceramic practice are welcome to join the Open Studio Membership.
